coffee

I drink coffee in the mornings now.

I like to play my music loud.

I feel taller, and I don’t know how.

I drink coffee in the mornings now.

And I don’t always have tea with milk.

I have my very own windowsill.

I’ve started to pay some bills.

And I don’t always have tea with milk.

I leave my room in my pajama pants.

I’m not afraid to go out and dance.

Though I still crave a good romance,

I leave my room in my pajama pants.

And I learned how to make fried rice.

I’m not afraid to turn out the lights.

Every day I think I look nice.

I learned how to make fried rice.

Now I know where I call home –

It’s with the people who make me whole.

It doesn’t matter where I may roam.

Now I know where I call home.

I drink coffee in the mornings now.

I say hello to folks when I go out,

And I’ve decided that I’m allowed

To drink coffee in the mornings now.
